Touching the Semiconductor Dream

Today, that dream is moving one step closer to reality. Engineers and instructors at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Training Center (SHTP Training) are collaborating with technical experts to wire and power up industrial-grade semiconductor packaging (backend) and testing equipment donated by Intel Products Vietnam Co., Ltd.

From multi-zone reflow convection ovens and die attach machines to automated test systems (ATE)… equipment that once existed exclusively in industrial manufacturing facilities is now being integrated into a hands-on training environment. This marks a major paradigm shift: students will no longer just study semiconductors in theory—they will truly touch and interact with semiconductors. No longer confined to viewing packaging and testing workflows through slides, images, or software simulations, trainees and students in this practice workshop—featuring an ISO 8 (Class 100,000) cleanroom environment—will have the opportunity to learn and operate directly on real industrial-grade equipment and, most importantly, practice on actual chip projects.

Establishing this hands-on workshop today has been a journey filled with challenges. Behind these high-value machine systems is not just technology, but countless days of dedicated teamwork, complex engineering hurdles tackled together, and above all, the collective spirit of many people who share a single vision: cultivating high-quality semiconductor talent for Vietnam. This accomplishment stands as a testament to the partnership and support of engineers from Dai Viet Engineering, Omega EMS Viet Nam, VNST, the Ho Chi Minh City College of Science and Technology (HCST), and many dedicated individuals throughout the journey of establishing the Semiconductor Packaging and Testing Practice Workshop at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park.
