The agreement lays the foundation for a unified coordination mechanism that connects education and workforce development with research, innovation, manufacturing capabilities, and the practical needs of businesses. Connecting Key Links in the Semiconductor Ecosystem As semiconductors become one of the world's most strategic technology sectors, building a network of cooperation among educational institutions, businesses, research organizations, and international partners is essential to developing a highly skilled workforce and strengthening Vietnam's domestic technological capabilities. The program on August 14, 2026, provided a platform for the parties to present their capabilities, ecosystems, and strategic directions, thereby identifying concrete opportunities for cooperation in education, research, innovation, manufacturing, and semiconductor technology commercialization. During the program, representatives of SHTP Training, Vietedge, Galgotias University, and IV Tech presented their respective activities, expertise, and development priorities. These presentations clarified how the parties' resources can complement one another and laid the groundwork for turning potential areas of cooperation into programs and projects aligned with each party's mandate, priorities, and capacity. SHTP Training: From Workforce Development to Ecosystem Building In its presentation, SHTP Training introduced its workforce development activities within the broader ecosystem of Saigon Hi-Tech Park, highlighting the strength of the Triple Helix model (Gorvernment – Academia - Industry), which brings together government, academia, and industry. This collaboration creates an integrated ecosystem that connects training, research, innovation, and manufacturing, with human capital at its core, helping transform technology, infrastructure, and investment into practical outcomes. Established in May 2005, SHTP Training pursues three long-term objectives: providing supplementary training in the knowledge and skills required for emerging technology fields; strengthening the capabilities of the existing workforce; and supplying highly skilled talent to businesses. Its operating model is built on three pillars: advanced technologies; soft skills and complementary skills; and career guidance, recruitment-driven training, and workforce readiness for manufacturing environments. In advanced technologies, SHTP Training prioritizes semiconductors; automation, robotics, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs); artificial intelligence; digital transformation; and the green transition. In the semiconductor field, the Center has delivered IC design training using electronic design automation (EDA) tools from Synopsys and Cadence. It is also progressively developing specialized centers and Train-the-Trainer programs, while providing training for talented students and participants in IC design competitions and strengthening university-industry collaboration. SHTP Training takes a strongly practical approach: learners are expected not only to understand concepts but also to use tools, solve real-world problems, and demonstrate results. This approach also provides the foundation for the Center's participation in international cooperation programs that connect education with research, manufacturing, and the needs of the semiconductor supply chain. The MOU Defines Clear Roles and Establishes a Unified Coordination Mechanism The MOU signed by Vietedge Joint Stock Company, SHTP Training, and IV Tech Electronics Co., Ltd. aims to coordinate the participation of Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem in the Vietnam-India Semiconductor Cooperation Initiative. Through the partnership between Vietedge, SHTP Training, and IV Tech, the parties aim to expand their network of reputable domestic and international partners to develop a high-quality workforce for the semiconductor industry. The collaboration will focus on designing and delivering industry-driven training programs aligned with the evolving needs of businesses. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced industry experts and instructors, gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment, and develop the practical skills needed to meet industry requirements.
